THE PLOT:

What starts out as a harmless Christmas present from Father to son turns into a nightmare of epic proportions. It all started when would-be inventor Randall Peltzer looks for the perfect gift for his son Billy. He finds it at a charming antique shop in Chinatown, but Mister Wang the owner refuses to sell it, claiming dangers. But his greedy Grandsom arranges a back alley deal with Randall.

Randall takes the cute fuzzy creature he calls Gizmo home and gives it to Billy with three simple rules, don't get him wet, don't feed him after midnight and light hurts him and sunlight will be fatal. These are the rules, but what happens with rules you don't understand, they get broken.

Rule one is broken when a neighbor spills water on Gizmo creature five more of the mini-monsters, but these clones aren't like Gizmo, they aren't nice. They're mean. Then they trick Billy into feeding them after midnight which causes a tranfromation from cute to monstreous. The Leader Spike jumps in the YMCA pool causing hundreds of the little monsters to rampage across the town.

ZEDD'S OPINION:

This is the movie that caused PG-13, because all the parents didn't pay attention to the reviews or the trailers and just saw a cutsy movie. They took their kids to it to find it's a monster movie where people drop like flies. So, they threw a **** storm to end all **** storms and PG-13 was born. Of course this didn't happened in Japan when Gremlins was just another movie. This is the kind of "violence" they should to five year old on Sailor Moon, they don't hide death from children, it's stupid. We're "protecting" our children to death in this country and I say it's enough. Time we were more like Japan and I would start by dispanding the PTA, considering it's not improving our schools any, like it was designed to do, instead they bitch about movies, video games and TV while our public schools go to f***ing pot. Dispand the PTA today! Anyway, the movie was good but I prefer Polly Holiday as the nice person, not the evil Banker lady. I give GREMLINS...9 STARS!

VOLTRON'S OPINION:

I agree with Zedd, mainly about disbanding the PTA. If they stuck to the job of fixing the problems with the school system we'd be back as the best public education in the world instead they but their curler wearing noses where it doesn't belong. Censorship is unamerican and shoud be stopped. Viva FREE SPEECH. Anway, about the movie, I do agree with the minor character flaws. I give it...8 STARS

ON THE POSSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):

+ CHARACTERS (Most of the characters were likable, for the exception of the evil Degeal lady.)
+ GREMLIN DESIGN (The cute and scary designs are cool.)
+ STORY (Monster rampages are always cool.)
+ FUNNY (It has some very funny moments.)

ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):

- PTA (They ruinted the rating system in the name of "PROTECTING THE CHILDREN"!
- CHARACTER ISSUES (There was one character that gets under my skin.)

AND FINALLY...

- NOT FOR EVERYONE (If all you see when you look at Gremlins is a cute movie for little kids, then you are wrong!.)
